Research Administration Officer job with UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY

  • Provide technical, operational, and administrative support to the Digital Health Manager and Clinical Trials Services Manager to support the research activity and requirements for the Westmead Applied Research Centre (WARC)
  • Utilise your excellent interpersonal and research administration skills to support project delivery
  • Full time fixed term for 12 months (with a potential for extension) with a base salary of $79,717+ 17% superannuation

We are seeking a Research Administration Officer to support maintenance of project documentation related to research studies, lead patient/participant contact involving scheduling appointments and collecting data directly from participants (through surveys, interviews, case report forms) and be expected to coordinate the activities across multiple research projects to ensure each project runs smoothly.

The role is based at Westmead, and the incumbent will be expected to maintain a presence on-site.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • recruit patients for research study including digital health and drug trials
  • maintain multiple trial master files with regularly sorting and organisation of files, and maintain all necessary records/documentation in a timely and concise manner
  • independently compile research reports, drawing data from a variety of sources within and outside of the research team. Prepares charts, graphs, and tables for presentations or inclusion in reports
  • support coordination of grant applications, ethics submissions, and reporting to HREC and Governance bodies

About you

To be successful in this role, you have:

  • demonstrable exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with day-to-day operational matters
  • exceptional stakeholder management skills, and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a collaborative team
  • the ability to take initiative and innovation in approach
  • strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods
  • a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • experience in a research and or clinical trial environment (desirable).

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
